I read today about a man who had to move from New York City. He wishes it was 2019 again. Today is no fun. Division. Closing. Confusion. Rancor. Duplicity. Ineptitude.

The byproducts are fear, insecurity, and longing.

Just because you are a Christian doesn’t make you immune to these unpleasant dispositions, but your faith in Jesus Christ does provide you anchor that others without Him do not have.

In Christ, perfect love casts out fear.

In Christ, you are secure in His care.

In Christ, your essential needs are supplied.

Fearful, insecure, longing people are desperate souls. The greater the tumult, the more desperation.

People filled with love, who are cared for, and whose needs are supplied, are people equipped to live beyond themselves. That’s you if you are in Christ.

Today is not pleasant. Fear. Insecurity. Longing.

Today is what you as a Christian are designed for, called to, and blessed to engage. Live above, reach out beyond yourself. Now.

Your faith in Jesus Christ is not a Christian notion. Your faith is living, active, and sharp. Like a sword. Wield it well. Wield it now. Wield it in love, security, and determination. But wield it. Now.
