Teams

Look how much more effective Ted and Bill are as a team, and when they are done working, they get to stand with their noses together. This is truly a great arrangement. Furthermore, this is not all that different from what God had in mind when He said, “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17).

It could also be what He meant when He said, “A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart” (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

He may well have been contemplating this when He devised the body of Christ, and it may be the impetus behind His invention of friendship.

This is probably why He looked at Adam and said, “You know what? It is not a good plan for man to be alone. Let’s see, I need to create….” And He devised a plan and created woman.

Trusting Christ to express His life through us is an individual responsibility that each of us carries, but our responsibility does not stop there. We—the body, the family, the marriage, the friendship—have a responsibility to trust Christ together. And if we do so, Ted and Bill present a picture of what is possible.

And as if that were not enough, we get to stand with our noses together when we are finished. There you have it!
