Third of Three Essentials

If Christ is in you (first essential), and you are in Christ (second essential), then Ephesians 2:10 makes sense and properly prioritizes performance: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…” Your Father in heaven is interested in you reflecting who you are in Him and who He is in you, not just merely resting on the laurels of His work on your behalf.

Yes, you are to rest…rest in his strength, ret in his sufficiency, ret in His finished work, but not rest in the sense of kicking back and doing nothing.

You are created for good works, equipped for good works, free from the need to use the good product to patch up a sagging identity.

You are free to perform because you want to, not because you have to.

Don’t forget who lives in you, who you are, and by all means don’t forget that He wants to take care of living life…both yours and His.
