Three Things: Third
I could conclude this blog series now, but while our heads are still spinning in this direction, let me remind you of the first part of Ephesians 2:10: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works....” The Lord is interested in us reflecting who we are in Him and who He is in us, not just merely resting on the laurels of His work on our behalf. Yes, we are to rest...rest in His strength, rest in His sufficiency, rest in His finished work, but not rest in the sense of kicking back and doing nothing.
We have been created for good works, equipped for good works, and freed from the need to use the good product to patch up a sagging identity. We are free to perform because we want to as new people in Christ, not because we have to in order to meet our needs or earn God’s acceptance.
Don’t forget who you are and Who lives in you; and by all means, don’t forget that He wants to take care of living life...both yours and His.
